One of my favorite chapters in the book is often over looked in some books on public speaking; the chapter on nonverbal communications. On page , Fred outline the aspects of communication that don't require listening. He focuses on eye contact, facial expression, gestures, posture and body movement, and then breaks them all down with detailed instructions on how to further master the front of the room.
This book should be the text book for all college courses on public speaking. In fact, I'm taking it with me to a meeting I have scheduled with an instructor of a public speaking course at a college in my area to introduce him to it. This is the bible of effective public speaking. Get it, read it, do it! Mar 20, Josh Lloyd rated it it was amazing. No Sweat Public Speaking!
I kept expecting it to focus on the fear of public speaking, but the book kept focusing on the how to. I was slightly disappointed until I got to the end and realized that by teaching you how to, it actually greatly reduces your fear as well. I look forward to applying what I've learned in this book to my upcoming speeches. I'm curious to hear why so many people gave this book a poor rating.
I wasn't even nervous—because I knew I was prepared. Presentations since have been anxiety-free and successful as well. I would recommend you to anyone—thanks again for all the help.
